The country’s leading paint brand, NASH Paints was the main sponsor of the 2017 Harare Provincial
Merit Awards ceremony held at the Celebration on Friday July 28.
The main objective of the awards ceremony is to reward excelling students in both primary and
secondary schools not only in academia but in other disciplines such as sport and the arts.
Speaking at the ceremony, NASH Paints chief executive officer, Dr. T Mutenga said that they have
chosen education as one of their corporate social responsibilities.
“Over the past 10 years we have been keen supporters of education in Zimbabwe. To that effect, we
have chosen education as one of our corporate social responsibilities,” said Dr. Mutenga in his speech.
“It is our firm conviction that as education channels its products into industry and commerce, we in the
corporate world should equally play a meaningful role by giving back resources into education in a
variety of ways at our disposal,” he added.
The 2000 seater auditorium was abuzz with students and teachers from all over the Harare metropolitan
province who were collecting their prizes which included; certificates, cash and trophies amongst many
other goodies.
