Government has announced that it will conduct a research and development survey to identify financial, personnel and other resources required by Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in an effort to attain the country’s ambitious Vision 2030.
According to the Research Council of Zimbabwe, the research and development survey will be a key component for Zimbabwe’s socio-economic transformation and competitiveness as the troubled nation aims to attain lower-middle income by 2030.
“We want to measure research and development efforts among SMEs and Cooperatives in Zimbabwe in human capital and other resources towards the attainment of vision 2030,” RCZ Executive director Susan Muzite said.
Zimbabwe with an estimated unemployment rate of more than 90%, has over the years, relied heavily on small business for employment and economic sustainability.
