Opposition National Patriotic Front (NPF) leader, Ambrose Mutinhiri has said that he will not step down as the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the July 30 elections.
Mutinhiri turned down former Cabinet minister Patrick Zhuwao’s plea for all candidates to back MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa, in an effort to avoid splitting the vote. Speaking to the Daily News Mutinhiri,
Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and that includes Zhuwao but we have made our decision as a party that I am the candidate and that is not about to change now so I am still a candidate.
