MINSK, (BelTA) – A delegation from Zimbabwe, headed by Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Amon Murwira is expected to visit Belarusian State Technological University (BSTU) on 14 May, BelTA learned from the university.
Attending the meeting will be Belarusian First Deputy Education Minister Aleksandr Bakhanovich and rector of Belarusian State Technological University Igor Voitov.
The Zimbabwean delegation will get familiar with the educational and scientific programs, visit the hall of history and education at BSTU, and a permanent exhibition of scientific and technical developments.
The university administration, faculty deans and the delegation members will discuss cooperation between the Belarusian university and Zimbabwean universities. The parties will talk over the issues of training foreign specialists in forestry, wood processing, industrial ecology, energy-efficient technologies, and mineral fertilizer technology.
The program of the visit also envisages the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Midlands State University and Belarusian State Technological University. The document provides for cooperation on the exchange of experience in education and promotion of exchange of students, undergraduates, graduate students and teaching staff, as well as the development of joint research projects in areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Amon Murwira will be awarded a diploma and the mantle of Honorary Doctor of Belarusian State Technological University.
