Last August, I met my partner on a dating website. We chatted the whole day and night and decided to meet the following day. We met up in a small shopping complex not far from my house in Springs, east of Joburg.

We hit it off and went to his house where after lunch, one thing led to another, and we ended up being intimate. We had no time as he had to go to work, so we parted ways.

I don’t believe that intimacy on a first date is a taboo because even if you wait a year, if he is going to leave you, he will. Days went by and we continued to chat.

Valentine’s Day addict spends GBP3,800 on decorating her home

An entrepreneur who is so in love with Valentine’s Day she has spent GBP3,800 filling her house with romantic decorations and accessories, has admitted that she even celebrated the passionate occasion when she was SINGLE. Now happily married, Tin…

After six days, he proposed. I was the happiest I’ve ever been, but little did I know I was pregnant with our baby girl. We had several more dates and spent time together after that.

Unfortunately, just over two weeks after our first date I had to go home, away from Joburg to be with my mother.

I left Joburg in September and haven’t seen him since. We do talk on the phone, but it’s still not the same.

In April this year, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and she has not been able to meet her dad ever since.

In June, when the lockdown restrictions became less stringent, he was meant to visit but was stopped at a roadblock where he was discovered to have contracted Covid-19.

So that trip was also delayed. I’ve been talking to him daily, but it’s still killing me to know I might not be able to get my happily ever after and could end up raising my baby alone, but I remain hopeful.
