Khupe Risks Being Disciplined For Opposing Chamisa: Cross

Acting MDC-T President Thokozani Khupe

Outspoken MDC-T legislator Eddie Cross has warned that the party’s vice president Thokozani Khupe risks being disciplined if she continues to oppose Nelson Chamisa, who was recently endorsed as the party’s acting president.

In an interview with Southern Eye, Cross who is also the party’s MDC-T policy coordinator general added that Khupe is fighting a losing battle, hence she needs to accept defeat for the purposes of unity in the party. Said Cross:

The support for Chamisa is overwhelming. That is over. If Khupe persists she may be disciplined or lose her membership. All other leaders have accepted the inevitable.

Cross also dismissed a widely held belief that Khupe was influential in the Matabeleland region as nonsense.
