Amid the ongoing saga surrounding Billiat’s future, Mosimane admits that Masandawana are at peace with his decision

Following Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane’s recent remarks regarding Khama Billiat’s imminent departure, the 53-year-old says he has given up hopes of retaining the Zimbabwe international.

Billiat is fast approaching his final six months of his current deal at Chloorkop, and while the player himself has said that he is yet to make a decision on his future, his coach on the other hand feels the 27-year-old is as good as gone.

Mosimane is certainly not pleased with the Sundowns talisman’s decision not to renew his contract, and in an interview with Sabc Sport expressed that Billiat is at liberty to do whatever he wants.

“Khama (Billiat) can do whatever he wants to,” Mosimane told SABC Sport.

“If he wants to stay, he can stay; if he wants to go… The contract is finishing. We are at peace with that.

Furthermore, Mosimane also admits that Billiat’s impeding exit has had something to do with him losing his place in the Brazilians starting line-up.

“And when he realises that we are at peace, he unfolds his place (he relinquishes his starting place),” Mosimane said.

“He deserves to be in the starting line-up,” he continued.

“But you must work a little bit to get in the starting line-up. If the team wins why do you want to change it?”

“So if he scores then it’s something else then you say ‘okay, maybe he should start’.

“You got to work yourself into the starting line-up,” he concluded.
