Exiled G40 mastermind Professor Jonathan Moyo has claimed that his former G40 colleague, Saviour Kasukuwere has been negotiating with President Emmerson Mnangagwa to return home.

According to Moyo, Kasukuwere has been locked in negotiations for the past five months with Mnangagwa, Vice President, General (retired) Constantino Chiwenga and Isaac Moyo, the director of the Central Intelligence Organisation. Moyo also credits Kasukuwere with coining the catchphrase “New Dispensation” which has hugely been used to describe the post-Robert Mugabe era.

Writing on Twitter, Moyo said,

The term NEW DISPENSATION to define period after the illegal ouster of Pres Mugabe was coined & first used in a👇🏿tweet by @Hon_Kasukuwere on 21/11/17 shortly after Pres Mugabe’s forced resignation. Last 5 months he’s been negotiating with ED, Chiwenga & CIO’s Isaac Moyo to return!

Kasukuwere and Moyo fled into exile after the fall of former president Robert Mugabe. The two fled to Mugabe’s Blue Roof residence after  Kasukuwere’s house was attacked by alleged Special Air Service (SAS) snipers when the Zimbabwe Defence Forces launched the military intervention. The intervention which was codenamed Operation Restore Legacy ultimately resulted in the fall of Mugabe.

Moyo’s claims seem plausible as in January,  Zanu PF chairperson for Manicaland province, Mike Madiro claimed that Kasukuwere was begging President Emmerson Mnangagwa to return home.

The former cabinet minister and Zanu-PF National Political Commissar has been accused by his former G40 compatriot Patriot Zhuwao of working with Mnangagwa to destabilise the National Patriotic Front. The party is led by Ambrose Mutinhiri but has been endorsed by former President Robert Mugabe.
