Picture: New Parliament of Zimbabwe

China was contracted to construct Zimbabwe’s new Parliament House in Mt Hampden, about 35 kilometres outside Harare.

The company says that the design of the new structure which is already under construction was inspired by the country’s majestic Victoria Falls and the Great Zimbabwe Ruins from which Zimbabwe got its name.
