Self-taught architect Ando, 80, is renowned in the industry as he is behind the He Art Museum in China and the Bourse de Commerce in Paris and Kanye became a fan of the Osaka, Japan native after visiting the ‘art island’ he designed in Naoshima.

No doubt the part house, part sculpture home was a must-have for Kanye as it is one of only a handful of homes designed by Ando in the United States.

The home was previously owned by financier and ex of Ashley Olsen, Richard Sachs, who bought the home at a much lower price of $1.9million.

As the purchase was made via an off-market deal there are no photos of the interior available online but it does include four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms.

The home is divided into three stories: a bottom floor with three guest bedrooms, a middle floor which is a shared space, and a top floor which contains the primary suite.

This is the first home property purchase for Kanye amid his impending divorce from Kim Kardashian.

His 40-year-old estranged wife and mother to his four children has been living in the $60million Hidden Hills mansion they bought together which is about a half-an-hour drive from his new property.

Back in March, DailyMail.com learned that Kim was currently staying there amid their separation despite Kanye being the one to have spent years designing the residence.

Kim officially filed for divorce in February following months of rumors surrounding the state of their marriage.

The couple were married for over six years and share four children together: daughters North, eight , Chicago, three, and sons Psalm, two, and Saint, five.

Kim and Kanye purchased the Hidden Hills residence for $20 million in 2014, but did not move in until 2018 after investing $40 million in renovations.

An insider revealed to Page Six earlier this year that Kim reportedly owns the land, but Kanye owns the actual house.
