MINSK, (BelTA) – A batch of MAZ vehicles will be shipped to the Zimbabwean market, representatives of the Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ told BelTA.

The contract provides for shipping five MAZ-646087 truck tractors and five MAZ-937900-010 semi-trailers to this African country. Those are right-hand-drive trucks and are designed to transport freight in countries with left-hand traffic. The semi-trailers can carry up to 30 tonnes each and are meant to carry construction machines.

The construction of a showroom for Belarusian automobiles is nearing completion in Zimbabwe’s capital Harare. Belarus’ top automobile engineering companies will be represented there.

MAZ also expects its passenger vehicles to sell well in the region. The renewal of the bus fleet in large populated localities is an important matter for Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe’s demand for passenger vehicles in the near future is expected to exceed 500 buses. It is worth mentioning that MAZ has experience of designing specialized passenger transport for the African region.
