HARARE - The FIFA World Cup 2010 hospitality packages purportedly owned by controversial Harare businessman Phillip Chiyangwa belongs to the Zimbabwean tyrant President Robert Mugabe and his two football loving sons, sources in Zimbabwe Intelligence revealed.
Mugabe’s two boys Robert Jr and his young brother Bellarmine Chatunga are well known passionate football fans and they both support Zimbabwean Premier League football club Caps United and on occassions they attend big matches for the famous green and white shirt Harare side.
The eldest son, Robert Mugabe Jr, is also a staunch follower for Spanish giants Real Madrid and he has attended a match at Bernabeu stadium in Madrid as a Birthday present, our source revealed.
We can also reveal that the two sons are behind the bid to buy Chitungwiza based Premier League club Kiglon Bird.
The Premiership outfit Kiglon Bird is up for sale and Phillip Chiyangwa, has approached Warriors legends Peter Ndlovu and Edzai Kasinauyo to run the club on behalf of Robert Mugabe's two boys.
Impeccable sources in the Zimbabwean intelligence services, the Central Intelligence Organisation, CIO told our reporter that the right to sell World Cup hospitality packages in Zimbabwe was awarded to Mr Chiyangwa, as the frontman for the Zimbabwean tyrant.
The former Rhodesian police Constabulary and Zanu-PF provincial chairman for Mashonaland West, Phillip Chiyangwa is subject to international sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United States is a frontman is reported to be only the frontman in the deal.
Native Investment Group, which is run by the a 50-year-old cousin of the Zimbabwean dictator, was appointed to sell World Cup packages for FIFA late last year, in circumstances sources said were influenced by powerfull South African politicians linked to the country's former President Thabo Mbeki's administration.
In 2005, Chiyangwa and other Zanu PF officials and a banker were arrested for spying on behalf of the South African Intelligence Services.
The contract for World Cup 2010 hospitality packages was awarded by Match Hospitality, FIFA’s hospitality agent, which is run by FIFA president Sepp Blatter’s nephew Philippe Blatter.
Before the run up to the much publicised fall-out between First Lady Grace Mugabe and Nestle Zimbabwe, over the supply of milk from a stolen farm, the Swiss food manufacturing giant sponsored the Nestle Charity Shield at the tune of US$50 000 and at one of the final tournaments at Rufaro Stadium, the whole Mugabe family, except the man himself turned up at the invitation of .........guesse who.
Ironically, Nestle and FIFA President Sapp Blatter are both Swiss.
According to South Africa’s Independent Online, NIG was "identified and appointed" - without a tender process - by the sub-Saharan African agent, a joint venture between Primedia and Sail.
"The best possible entities are identified for the respective territory and, provided they are available and willing, they may be appointed as sales agents or sub-agents," a spokesman was quoted by the news service.
Since 2002, the European Union has adopted a policy of targeted sanctions against leading members of the Mugabe regime.
An EU policy directive states: "The measures adopted by the EU, as a result of the break down of the rule of law and human rights abuses, are the freezing of personal assets of senior members of government and other high-ranking officials, the prevention of the same to travel to EU Member States and the embargo on the sale of arms."
Earlier this month, the BBC Newsnight reporter Sue Lloyd-Roberts interviewed Chiyangwa, whose wife Elizabeth showed TV cameras around their opulent 35-room mansion.
After showing Lloyd-Roberts the family car collection, which includes a Rolls Royce and Bentley, she described their wealth as "a gift from God".
"If I want to buy a jet tomorrow, I will do it here. If I want to buy a Rolls Royce, I have one. If I want to drive a Bentley then I have one. If it’s a beautiful mansion house, I bought one. I built it myself," her husband boasted.
In 2003, Leo Mugabe, the "favorite" nephew of the president and a notorious crony of the regime, was sacked from his role as president of the Zimbabwean FA after being found guilty of misappropriating a $61,000 FIFA grant for developing youth facilities.
Meanwhile, the controversial Zanu PF businessman has extended his interests to football and is backing former Dynamos football club Secretary-General Lesley Gwindi's bid for the Zimbabwe Football Association Presidency and Caps United owner and business partner Twine Phiri is set to takeover Chairmanship of the Premier Leagues.
Sources revealed that Chiyangwa has extended his financial support for the Gwindi campaign through Nigel Munyati an employee of the flashy businessman's Native Investments, who will be Gwindi's running mate.
Munyati, a former Black Aces player and director of the Aces Youth Academy, will be contesting the ZIFA first Vice President's post in the long awaited March ZIFA board elections.
Minister of Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Saviour Kasukuwere is in control of Zimbabwe's most famous and successfull club Dynamos FC through his brother and proxy, Stanley Kasukuwere and Information and Publicity Minister Webster Shamu is the Patron of the Glamour Boys.
In another development, debt ridden Bulawayo based Premier League side Higlanders FC are subject to a takeover by another Wealthy Zanu PF high ranking leader, Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube, the head of Zimbabwe Defence Industries.
Tshinga Dube, is one of the country's richest man. He is a diamond merchant and Robert Mugabe's key arms trader.
His son and Businessman Vusumuzi Dube, is owed money by the club and he is closely watching developments unfolding at the cash strapped famous black and white Bulwayo giant amid reports of serious financial difficulties in the run up to the incoming 2010/2011 season.
Early this month, Highlanders, only managed to raise a paltry US$10 from the more than 200 members who attended the club's annual meeting in the city.
Club members were asked to donate during the meeting and they only chipped in with US$10.
The country's oldest club is mired in a debt of a staggering US$144 000 and sources said its only a matter of time before it falls into Zanu PF linked businessmen.
Mugabe’s black empowerment programme is selective to just a few who are either related to him or his ZANU PF inner circle.
Mugabe has fallen from a liberation war hero to an object of public ridicule. After steady economic progression since assuming power in 1980 inflation surged to being the highest in the world at close to 1200% causing unprecedented devastation and poverty in both urban and countryside.
There are growing fears within Zanu-PF that Robert Mugabe might be grooming his son Robert Mugabe Junior to eventually take the reigns of the Party whenever he decides to resign from Politics.

Whoever owns the rights is going to make a killing by auctioning them to the highest (and only) bidder. At the moment Chiyangwa is owed some money by ZBC (do you know how?) so he is stopping a third party (ZTA I think) from paying ZBC what's due to it until the debt is paid.
Ever heard of money laundering?
