A Bulawayo woman left a court in rumpus when she claimed that her lover was in the habit of forcibly pulling her privates as a way of “fixing” her.

Zepha Kondowe revealed this at the Bulawayo Civil Court where she was seeking a protection order against her lover of seven years Pfungwa Chiora.

She said Chiora started to emotionally, verbally and physically abuse her after she discovered that he was married.

Shockingly, Kondowe said for the past seven years she had been cohabiting with Chiora and he had been lying to her that he was not married.

“I have been staying with Pfungwa Chiora for the past seven years and for those years he never told me that he was married. He has been emotionally, verbally and physically assaulting me on several occasions, he broke into my house and forcibly took some of my property. He went on to tear the curtains and pour water all over my clothes.

This was after I had discovered that he was married.

“As if that is not enough, he also indecently assaulted me by forcibly touching my private parts. He even promised to pay my rentals but he did not honour the promise and as a result of that I no longer want anything to do with him,” charged Kondowe.

In response Chiora didn’t dispute his lover’s claims saying the abuse was just “punishment” against her for refusing to end the relationship.

“It has been a while since I assaulted her. She knew that we were just cohabiting since I was married. When I told her my wife was now coming to stay with me she refused to move out and that sparked our misunderstandings,” said Chiora.

In his judgment the presiding magistrate Tinashe Tashaya ordered Chiora not to emotionally, verbally and physically abuse Kondowe.
