A woman from Mpopoma in Bulawayo has suffered enough at the hands of her son-in-law who beats her up and arrives at her house in the middle of the night unannounced.

Sonani Mlotshwa has had enough troubles from Nhlanhla Khumalo who does not respect her.

“Nhlanhla Khumalo was married to my daughter Sithembisile Khumalo. My problem is that he comes to my house causing trouble as he insults and threatens me. Sometime this year he beat me and I reported the matter to the police but his behaviour has not changed.”

Khumalo ‘s disrespectful behaviour has reached alarming levels as at one time he took from the washing line only to return them after a police report.

“He also comes home at night around 1 AM demanding to see his children and if we refuse to open for him he  threatens to assault me at the same time insulting me.

“I am now applying for a peace order against him as I do not want him to come to my house ever again,” said Mlotshwa.

The woman said that they open doors for him in the middle of the night as they will be fearing for their lives.

In response, Khumalo blamed his anger issues. “I have matrimonial problems and I do things out of anger,” he said.
