Mariah Carey has returned to the limelight after a brief break and is looking better than ever. The Grammy winner has sparked social media meltdown by debuting a much slimmer frame at AHF World AIDS Day Concert at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Thursday(30 November).

This comes after an Entertainment Tonight article claimed that Carey lost 25 pounds after undergoing weight loss surgery this fall. She shared a photo of herself, wearing a curve-hugging black Georgine gown with safety pin details, on her official Instagram page.

“Feeling better and back at work! Looking forward to seeing you today at the World AIDS Day 2017 concert and then starting the Christmas tour festivities!” the caption reads. Carey’s 6.2m Instagram followers are going gaga over her stunning figure with one user calling her “queen of perfection.”

A fan of Carey called her a “Skinny legend” and another quipped, “the Queen is back”, complimenting her slimmer frame. A follower of Carey wrote, “Omg you look beautiful. I love your dress.. reminding me of the Mariah from the 90’s !! Skinny mimi.”

One confused user asked, “Damn how did she lose weight in so little time ?” as another fan cheekily added, “That tummy tuck did you justice.”

Some users couldn’t help comment on the 47-year-old diva’s awe-inspiring looks. “This woman doesn’t age for real,” wrote a social media user, while another simply replied saying, “Damn she looks good for her age.”

Carey reportedly underwent gastric sleeve surgery after feeling “extremely insecure about her weight,” another source told ET back in November. An insider shared, “She always fluctuates and it makes her upset. She lives in denial about it; she has the tags cut out of clothes, so she can be blissfully unaware of her size.”

The All I Want For Christmas Is You singer underwent gastric sleeve surgery last month, which was performed by a top surgeon in Beverly Hills, California, a report in Page Six claimed.

A source told the outlet, “Mariah has always been proud of her curves, but this summer, as her Caesars Palace residency came to a close, and then she went on tour with Lionel Richie, she noticed it became harder to dance, and she was getting a lot more criticism online from body shamers.

“Mariah underwent the procedure about a month ago, and she is already seeing some good results, and she feels a lot better,” the source added.
