Maybe they could pitch up one like this along Mukuwisi river which runs across City of Harare. This is Franfurt, Germany during the 2006 World Cup final.

HARARE - The cash strapped Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) and the heavily politicised Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) are dreaming of an audacious initiative to establish fan parks/public viewing areas "to afford Zimbabweans to view the 2010 FIFA World Cup."

In a country were electricity supply is so erratic, the talk seem to be a dream that will remain in the pipe line. A week ago, the national team had to travel to Swaziland by bus to fulfill an international fixture.

According to ZTA Head of Public Relations and Corporate Communications, fan parks are an essential part of the FIFA 2010 World Cup tournament since they allow football fans who do not have tickets to the stadiums to enjoy the game with other supporters in an exciting and safe environment.

"Fan parks, as a category of sports tourism will not only be an opportunity for watching games, but also open several long term benefits for the communities,"ZTA notes.

ZTA has opened a tender inviting individuals and corporates interested in
operating fan parks/public viewing areas. ZTA says that Zimbabwe is a soccer loving nation, with a population of 12 million people.

Over 7 million people are soccer enthusiasts and follow the games religiously both in cities and rural areas.

However, a significant number of these soccer loving Zimbabweans will not have access to live matches and they do not have appropriate media facilities to witness the tournament in the comfort of their homes.

Modalities are being put in place to ensure that the tournament is brought to the people through other means.

Zimbabwe's Tourism Minister, Walter Mzembi recently revealed that so far
US $1,5 million had been secured from the private sector for the establishment of 15 fan parks across Zimbabwe.
