DURBAN, South Africa (Reuters) - Zimbabwe's Marc Cayeux led the way in British Open international final qualifying (Africa) on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old booked his place in the season's third major for the first time in his career after shooting rounds of 69 and 68 for a three-under total of 137.

Briton Jeremy Kavanagh also qualified for the July 16-19 championship at Turnberry after parring the final hole to finish in a tie for second place with South Africa's Jaco Ahlers on 138.

"It hasn't sunk in yet," said Kavanagh. "I've got mixed emotions and don't know whether to laugh or cry.

"I've got to give credit to my family, who backed me all the way, and I'm really looking forward to playing in the Open and doing something special there."

Ahlers hit a closing 65, the lowest round of the event, to secure his spot at Turnberry.
